Children
Kidz Church at 9:30 am
Join us at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings for Kidz Church! We begin our time in our small group classes: Preschool (must be 3 by Sept. 1), K & 1st, 2nd & 3rd, and 4th & 5th. Then K-5th graders come into the fellowship hall for large group worship where we sing and hear the Bible story through skits or videos. The last half of time is spent in the classroom where we do fun activities relating to our Bible story. We currently are using the 252 Basics curriculum where we focus on a different virtue each month.
Sunday School at 11:00 am
At 11:00 am on Sunday mornings we have Sunday school for kids ages 3-5th grade. We begin our time in the 11:00 service then leave after the children’s lesson and come back for a Sunday school lesson.
Nursery at 9:30 am and 11:00 am
A nursery is provided for infants-2-year olds at the 9:30 and 11:00 am services. Our nurseries are located on the bottom floor in the Park Street building (on the MMO hall). At the 9:30 service we split the children (infant, toddler and 2-year olds). The 2-year olds have a Sunday school class during the 9:30 service where they learn a Bible story along with a craft, game, snack, or other project. Your child is loved and well taken care of so you can enjoy one of our worship services.
Pioneer Club Sundays 4:00-6:00 pm
This is our newest children's program at DUMC! This program is open for those who are in Pre-K through 5th grade. We also have a 2 & 3-year old class open to just church and MMO families. Pioneer Club is designed to help children learn and memorize Scripture. They earn awards for Bible memorization and also earn activity awards for art, sports, cooking, etc. Our classes are:
Skippers (2 & 3-year olds), Scooters (Pre-K & Kindergarten), Voyagers (1st & 2nd Grade), and Pathfinders (3rd, 4th, & 5th Grade).
You can register on our website or just come to Pioneer Club and fill out a registration form. Come join the fun!
Annual Events
Family Easter Event
Join us for the Rock & Roll Easter Event be on Sunday, March 24 (Palm Sunday) at 4:00 pm at our church. There will be an egg hunt, games, crafts, music & food. For the egg hunt, kids are divided into age groups. Afterwards families can visit the other stations.
Vacation Bible School
VBS 2013 is June 17-21! It's for children who have completed Pre-K through 5th Grade. 2 & 3-year old classes are available ONLY to church families, MMO families, and VBS volunteers. Halloween Party
The Sunday before Halloween we have a party! Kids come dressed in costumes and get to make a craft, eat supper, play games, and jump in a bouncy house! And they go home with a bag full of candy! All children in the community are welcome to come!
Christmas Party
Each year the children have a Christmas party. This year our party will be on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 4:00 pm at Camp Glisson. We will have crafts, roast s'mores, go on a hayride, eat supper, and get a visit from Santa! We also do a special mission project to help families in our community.
